What these checks tell you

google.com is checked using an HTTPS request to www.google.com. The DNS cards test the Google Public DNS and Cloudflare resolver services associated with 8.8.8.8 and 1.1.1.1 through their named DNS-over-HTTPS endpoints, resolving google.com.

These are application-level checks from the website server. They are not ICMP pings, direct probes to those IP addresses, or measurements of your device’s connection. Response times include the HTTPS request and, for DNS, answer processing. A failed check can reflect a timeout or a restriction along the server’s path; it does not establish a worldwide outage.

Checks run when you open this page, when you select Check now, and every 60 seconds while the page is visible. Recent results last only for this visit; this page does not provide continuous monitoring or historical uptime percentages.
